The Best Places to Work in South Carolina is a survey and awards program started in 2006 by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group. Each year, the program identifies and recognizes 74 employers throughout the state of South Carolina that have excelled in providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

The selection is based on a two-part process. First and foremost, employers are evaluated on their values, policies, and day-to-day practices. The second process includes a comprehensive survey of current employers on their feelings about the business. Both assessments are scored and combined to determine a ranking for the Best Places to Work in South Carolina.
