We are excited to announce that H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue and the 9/11 Heroes Run have been selected as the April Give Back Grant Winners, and Beyond BASIC and Dorchester Paws have been selected as the May Give Back Grant winners.  The Give Back Grant program was initiated in 2016 and demonstrates “LimRic Pride” where the company donates a $500 grant each to two selected nonprofit organizations every month.

Since 2010 H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue has been on a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide a safe haven for equines in need to live out healthy, happy, and peaceful lives. Every horse they have taken in has lived on their farm until such time the horse is rehabilitated and adopted to an approved family. The entire staff and board are volunteers, taking care of as many as 24 horses at any given time. Learn how to volunteer and donate at www.hopeacresrescue.org.

The 8th Annual Charleston 9/11 Heroes Run will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 on Daniel Island. With over 50 chapters across the country, the 5K honors the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, while also honoring the service and sacrifices of our military and first responders. Since 2012, the Charleston 9/11 Heroes Run has donated more than $118,000 to local heroes through partnerships with 12 different first responder organizations and the Travis Manion Foundation, which empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations. Learn how to join the run here.

Beyond BASIC assists adults with intellectual disabilities in becoming contributing members of society by providing a program that enables independent living skills beyond the basics. The curriculum provides tools and develops skills in an individualized program that fosters independence to the fullest extent while advocating a movement for inclusion within the community. Beyond BASIC has transformed lives of adults with intellectual disabilities, providing opportunities that they otherwise would not have while helping them find purpose. Learn how you can help these adults learn beyond the basics at www.beyondbasiclifeskills.org.

Dorchester Paws is the only open-admission shelter in Dorchester County, serving towns including Rosinville, Ridgeville, Oakbrook, St. George, Summerville and Grover, SC. Partnering with Dorchester Code Enforcement, they take in every lost, abandoned and abused animal and provide them with food, shelter and medical attention until they find their forever home. Learn about how you can foster, adopt and donate at www.dorchesterpaws.org.
