LimRic Plumbing, Heating & Air Donates $2,000 in ‘Give Back Grants’ to Four Local Charleston Charities

LimRic Plumbing, Heating & Air is excited to announce Eunoia Rescue, Carolina Children’s Charity, Friends of Berkeley County Animal Center, and Blissful Dreams Rescue Ranch have been selected as recipients of the LimRic Give Back Grant this past summer. The Give Back Grant program was initiated in 2016 and demonstrates “LimRic Pride” where the company donates $500 grants to nonprofit organizations every month.

Since its inception in 1987, Carolina’s Children’s Charity has provided assistance to thousands of children with birth defects or other disabling diseases in Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton and Dorchester counties. These range from asthma to cerebral palsy, from juvenile diabetes to cancer, and many more in between. Providing services that total more $4.1 million, all of the money raised directly benefits local children with grant assistance to cover the costs of special equipment, medications, medically necessary evaluation and testing, and much more.

Children and adults who feel they don’t have a place in this world, are welcomed to Blissful Dreams Rescue Ranch where they have the opportunity to build relationships with horses through hands-on programs on the ranch including horse riding, therapeutic animal interaction and care. Located at Stardust Farms in Huger, SC, Blissful Dreams offers these programs at no-cost to people of all abilities including seniors, adolescents, people battling substance abuse, those with physical, mental or social challenges, and anyone who wants to participate. As a judgment free zone, Blissful Dreams provides an accepting environment that helps to develop friendships, build self-worth and establish purpose in each individual.

Eunoia Rescue is a an ‘all-love pro-peace’ nonprofit on a mission to spare the lives of animals from high kill shelters in South Carolina and place them with those who can provide a harmonious environment. As a foster-based organization, their mission to re-home animals in foster care from shelters provides more space in the shelter for other animals that are in need. Their philosophy is rooted in the ripple effect, where adoption may seem as though you are helping only one animal but you are helping many.

Friends of Berkeley County Animal Center is a nonprofit organization that was created by volunteers who work closely with the Berkeley County Animal Center in Moncks Corner. Their mission is to make the shelter the best it can be by raising funds to supplement the center’s financial needs, encouraging adoptions, and providing daily care, comfort and assistance to the shelter’s animals during their stay. The organization’s dream goal is to raise enough money to one day build a more modern and spacious center for the animals under their care.

LimRic Plumbing, Heating & Air Announces March Give Back Grant Winners

LimRic_GiveBackGrant_March

We’re excited to announce that The Genesis Project and Charleston HALOS have been chosen as the recipients of March’s Give Back Grant. The Give Back Grant program, initiated in 2016, demonstrates “LimRic Pride” by donating a financial contribution to two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations each month.

The Genesis Project was formally established in the summer of 2014 after the tragic drowning of a 13 year-old boy in Hollywood, SC named Genesis Holmes. Prior to this incident, The Parklands Foundation was exploring ways to eliminate drowning incidents in the areas of Johns Island, Awendaw/McClellanville, and Ravenel/Hollywood areas, since there is a higher percentage of residents in these areas who do not know how to swim in comparison to other areas of Charleston County. After Genesis’s drowning, the foundation’s determination to raise funds to offer aquatic safety programs in the rural areas grew stronger. The Genesis Project name not only honors the life of Genesis and all others who died in this tragic way, but represents the beginning of the foundations efforts to reduce the number of drowning occurrences in the rural areas of Charleston County.

Over 74,000 of South Carolina’s children live in the full-time care of grandparents and other relatives so that they will not have to enter the foster care system. The mission Charleston HALOS is to provide support and advocacy to abused and neglected children and their kinship caregivers. HALOS keeps children from being trapped in a cycle of poverty through links to financial assistance for food and health care, helps to establish legal guardianship, and help children and kinship caregivers navigate through crisis situations and link them to support groups and professional care. In addition, HALOS strives to improve and enrich the lives of abused and neglected children by providing donated school supplies, holiday gifts, summer camp scholarships and critical goods.

December’s Give Back Grant Supports Camp Rise Above and Postpartum Support Charleston

Our Give Back Grant recipients for December are Camp Rise Above and Postpartum Support Charleston. The Give Back Grant is a monthly donation of $500 to local nonprofit organizations.

The LimRic Give Back Grant was initiated in February 2016 and demonstrates “LimRic Pride” by donating $500 to two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations every month. David Miles, owner of LimRic Plumbing, Heating & Air, said, “LimRic Pride is the backbone of our company and it emphasizes the community spirit.  We are humbled to give to charities that offer support for people in different walks of life, since it’s the people that make up our community.”

The winners of the grant are chosen from Facebook nominations and voting. Individuals are invited to nominate their favorite charity on our Facebook page. Then each month, several charities are selected to take part in a two-week long voting process on the our Facebook page. The two charities with the most votes at the end of the voting period receive a $500 check from us.

Camp Rise Above, founded by Barbara Van Thullenar Denton in 2008, is a unique non-profit organization that provides fun, life changing camp experiences to children with serious illnesses, life challenges, and disabilities. They have grown to serve more than 58,000 children in South Carolina, offering high quality camp programs to hundreds of children each year.

“We believe all children deserve to experience the magic of childhood, regardless of their medical status,” said Executive Director, Erin Marie Ulmer. “That’s why we are so grateful to LimRic for their generous donation which will provide life-changing moments for Lowcountry children in need.”

Postpartum Support Charleston was founded by Helena Bradford after the loss of her daughter to postpartum depression. The organization is dedicated to eradicating the stigma surrounding maternal mental illnesses (such as depression, anxiety, OCD, and psychosis during and after pregnancy) to ensure all women who suffer receive support. In addition, Postpartum Support Charleston hosts a peer-led support group for women and their families.

“We don’t want anyone else to experience loss caused by postpartum depression,” said Elaine DeaKyne, Executive Director of Postpartum Support Charleston. “It’s through charitable giving, like LimRic’s Gives Back Grant, that we are able to provide hope and help and to bring awareness to postpartum depression and anxiety.”
